Chrome and the Retro Kitchen

Chrome is one of those parts that make the accents for a retro look. It was a newly created metal in the 1950’s and became very popular. You see it edging retro kitchen furniture, used around clock faces and accenting many kitchen items.

Even if you don’t have the fabulous retro kitchen tables and chairs, you can still make use of chrome accents in your kitchen. Small appliances often have chrome as part of their design. You can add something as simple as this retro look kitchen scale to bring the effect of chrome to your decorating. It’s available in black and silver colors as well.

Try different options for where a small appliance my sit to be displayed in your kitchen. One of my favorite ways is to add a small shelf on an unused place on the wall. The shelf can be at eye-level so you can easily reach the item or two that you place there. When they aren’t in use, they function as part of your decorating without taking up valuable counter space.

Here is another chrome small appliance with a retro look to it. This Oster blender has a glass 5-cup jar and makes a nice functional and decorative addition to your retro kitchen. So don’t be afraid to add those additional items that give you the look of a retro kitchen and make use of them as well.

That retro style scale is adorable. I love the red with the chrome — perfect as an accent piece that can also be used. 2 for 1 at it’s finest!
