Retro Designed Pitchers for Kitchen Accents

Retro-Designed-PitchersRetro accent pieces are the kind of things that can make your kitchen decorating simple and easy. These retro designed pitchers are ideal for using as part of your decor and part of your serverware. Double duty is one of the best parts about accessories in the kitchen.

Cherry Designs for Retro Pitchers

A very popular design element in the 1950’s kitchen was cherries. Cherries on table linens, cherries on wall paper, cherries on serving dishes. You can see why the women of the mid-century would love the look of cherries. Bright, colorful and charming was the look. Bring that into your own retro kitchen with these cherry designed pitchers.

Retro Patterns for Accent Pieces

Patterns of just about every kind also graced the kitchens of the 1950’s and 60’s. It almost didn’t matter what the pattern was, as long as the color scheme worked. Rickrack was a popular pattern, but so were circles, stripes and flowers. These are some of my favorite patterned pitchers, all designed in that fun retro style.

Functional Retro Pitchers

Each of these pitchers holds 19 ounces of your favorite beverage, so they are plenty big enough to set on your table filled with water or other beverage for your family or guests. If you like mixing alcoholic beverages, one of these pitchers works great to serve martinis or margaritas from.

These are both dishwasher safe and microwave safe, so they are easy to clean. And you can make a family size of hot chocolate if you like. Now that’s what I like.

Retro Designed Pitchers for Decorating, too

Besides being greatly functional, pitchers also make easy decorating accents in your retro kitchen. A table centerpiece is the most obvious decorating use. Pick a retro place mat, or a solid colored place mat that picks up one of the colors in your pitcher. You can add the traditional flowers in the pitcher, or go a bit unusual with a ribbon draped around and through the handle, then draped up over the top of your pitcher.

Think about other places in your kitchen where an accent piece like a retro pitcher could sit. On a shelf above where your retro aprons hang, on your counter top next to a cookie jar, or any place where you have a space to add in something more.

With a few accent pieces, your retro kitchen design will take shape in no time. It’s all about those little accessories that will make your look complete.
